Evita - my review

Andy and I went along to the opening night of Evita at the Kings Theatre, Glasgow. My mother used to play the songs of musicals when i was young so i already knew most of the words to all the song, i had seen Madonna put in the performance of her life in the film and then not get an Oscar - which i thought she deserved for her portrayal of this tragic character, but nothing could have prepared me for the emotional stage show.

I am not afraid to share that i shed a tear near the end - so if you go along remember the kleenex. The understudy took the stage on opening night which seemed a bit risky to me but she really put in a passionate and emotional performance. I would be happy to recommend this show to anyone looking for a good night out.

Cocktails at dinner - how civilised

As part of our 5pm meal deal for Tao we got a free cocktail each - Andy was driving so lucky me - cheers. In case your wondering - it was a cosmopolitan.

If reading this has given you the idea to shake things up at home tonight then why not try to make one for yourself...

Cosmopolitan Cocktail

Before Andy and I went to see Evita at the Kings Theatre we had dinner at Tao a restaurant owned by a friend of ours - newly opened in Glasgow. The food is as lovely as it is in his other restaurant so we would both be happy to recommend it. It is really handy for the Kings Theatre and the service is great, the price is fair, and the food is gorgeous. In the picture Andy is having the banana fritters for desert.

Start of journey to Belfast - Glasgow to Stranraer

Thought the timetable would make a good quick picture addition to this blog - taken using my mobile phone. I have taken a vidoe of the train arriving at station and will post a link to it when I have uploaded it.
